Below are some commonly asked questions.  If you have a question that is not covered here, then please visit our Contact Us page and call or email us at your earliest convenience.  Mahalo.

Whatʻs the difference between the North Shore and Haleʻiwa?

The island of Oʻahu is divided into 6 moku or districts.  The moku known as Waialua is commonly referred to as the North Shore.  The main town in Waialua is today called Haleʻiwa.  Both Haleʻiwa and the North Shore are on the opposite side of the island from Waikīkī, which sits on the South Shore.

Why should I visit the North Shore?

Although Oʻahu has many beautiful places, the North Shore is unique from the rest of the island.  The small town feel with many one-of-a-kind local boutiques and eateries surrounded by uncrowded beaches makes Haleʻiwa a must experience when visiting Oʻahu.

How long does it take to get to the North Shore?

That all depends on what part of the island one is coming from as well as traffic conditions, however, from Waikīkī it usually takes anywhere between one & one and a half hours to drive.

What areas do you shuttle to?

Our regular shuttle service runs from Waikīkī on the south shore to Haleʻiwa on the north shore.

How much does the shuttle cost?

$50 (USD) per seat.  Small children to the age of 2 are considered lap riders and can sit on a parentʻs lap free of charge.

Where are your pickup & drop off locations?

Our regular shuttle service runs from Waikīkī to Haleʻiwa town.  In Waikīkī we have 9 pickup sites (see the Services page for the complete list).  In Haleʻiwa we have 5 drop off / pickup sites (see the services page for details).

Can you accommodate wheelchairs?

Unfortunately we do not offer wheelchair access at this time.

Do you have carseats?

No.  Any guest wishing to use a carseat must supply one themselves.

Do you have storage for bulky items?

Yes.  We have a large storage compartment for large or bulky items such as beach umbrellas, folding chairs, coolers, etc.  If you have a surfboard or any other item that is questionable in size then please call us ahead of time with the dimensions and we will try to accommodate as best as possible.

Does Holo Haleʻiwa provide custom tours?

Yes.  We are able to provide private custom tours for small groups.  Please refer to the Services page for details.

What is your cancellation policy?

Guests can cancel their reservation up to 24-hrs in advance of their scheduled pickup time without any penalties and receive a full refund.  Any cancellations within 24-hrs of the scheduled pickup time or no-shows will be charged full price.

What happens if we miss the bus?

Nothing...as in youʻre not going anywhere...so donʻt miss the bus. 😬  If you are running late then please call our office and we will do whatever we can to assist within reason.  Please be mindful that our bus has to stick to a schedule and other guests are depending on us to deliver them in a timely manner.  If the bus must leave, you will have to find your own transportation out or back and assume that expense - no refunds will be issued.
